Question: What are your thoughts on Milkweed thus far?

Seriously sweet - Misha's rockin' my world (Winner)
Good - I'm tastin' the babkas now
Chillin' - Still deciding at this point
Not great - Not my cup of tea
Seriously sour - Pilsudski's a dud

As we make our way through the novel, we are starting to see how Misha's once innocent world is starting to crumble around him.  Prepare for the conclusion - your thoughts...

Milkweed is really weird...I don't really like it because nothing good seems to happen and having your face urinated on is plain gross.

I love it. It tells about true things and it is funny.

I think is a very good book... but i don't think the book is an accurate protreyal of World War 2. For example when Misha went to drop "black pearls" for Nadia's family and the NAZI officer was there. The officer would have not only slapped him he would have probably arrested him because Misha said he was a gypsy. Instead Misha got away.
I really love the book and I put Misha is rokin' my world, but the book is very fictional. However some parts are partially realistic. Misha is plain, old cut, and dry rokin' my world!

Who's Nadia? Do you mean Jennina? Anyways, I think it's so-so. At first, Milkweed was kinda funny and was pretty realistic even though it was confusing sometimes. Now, it's even more realistc because of the Getto and concentration camps. It is also kind of sad because Misha used to have a free life with lots of food, but now he is "trapped" in the Getto with very little food.

The ghetto seems scary...not really my type of book but we'll see where it goes...

Its a weird book? No I mildly disagree. This book is action packed and full of surprises. If you want a book that is not well written slabbed on to a piece of paper filled with random events that don't fit... Then this is not your type of book.
You see this book from the perspective of a kid who dosen't know who he is. At that time if you didn't know who you were then that was a death sentence.
Now he noes who is but this book is still sweet. Like I said before this book is rokin' my world.
P.S I wrote Nadia by accident. I meant Jennina!

Milkweed is a well thought out masterpiece written with class and wonderful description.

The way you guys are talking...it's like it's become your fave book when you don't even know the ending. Like I said before, not the best but we'll see how it plays out...

I kinda agree with one, not that I don't like the book. It just doesn't flow very well

I saw this book at the library, and I literally had to lure myself AWAY from it. I re-read the part about moving to the ghetto, though. On the cover, instead of ours there was a stone angel. By the way, did you know you spell Janina with two A's?

To prove my first comment, look at what happened. He is stuck in the ghetto, people have died, there is nothing to eat, and there is STILL the mentioning of urine. The plot is very sad but i have to admit it is well writen.

@ Fourteen. I waited for the book to finish and... Misha is still rokin' my world!
